PhotoGalaxy has launched a new photo contest. The competition theme is “Motion”. This broad theme should allow for a wide variety of innovative techniques and subject matter. As usual, entry is free. The competition is now open for entries. The closing date is in March 2007.
The first place prize is the brand new Canon EOS 400D. This is a ground-breaking new camera with a 10.1 megapixel sensor and Canon’s new integrated sensor-cleaning system. More prizes will be revealed soon.
The “Motion” competition replaces the “Four Elements” contest. The winners of the “Four Elements” competition have now been selected and can be found in PhotoGalaxy’s competitions gallery.
Photo Galaxy has integrated Google Maps into their galleries to create the Photo Map. Photographers can GeoTag their images and they will appear as a small icon on the world map! Also, each photographer has their own personal photo map which is accessible through their private gallery. When you are looking at any photograph that is GeoTagged, a mini Photo Map is displayed next to it pinpointing the exact location the photographer was standing!
